How does Contemporary Performance inform AI and Extended Reality (XR) technologies?

This workshop will bring together experts from the performing arts, computer engineering, data science and creative technologists to explore pathways to innovation and future partnerships. The event will feature artist demos, panel presentations, and working groups.

Workshop Goals:

To brainstorm models for the two-way flow between AI/XR technologies and contemporary performance
To showcase innovative creative practices that explore questions about ethics, transparency and access for AI/XR and the performing arts sectors
To explore how media and technologies are dramaturgical agents in the construction of live performance
To provide recommendations about government support for research at the intersection of the creative and technology sectors
To contribute session proposals for a National Convening to be held in December
